Grouped below by what each job is actually solving — moving dirt, holding water, clearing growth, or planning the grade before anyone shows up. Most of it doubles as conservation work, and we plan it that way on purpose.

01 — Earthmoving & Site Prep

Bulldozing, Excavation & Site Prep

This is the part everybody pictures when they think "dirt work" — and it's still where most jobs start. Before a building pad is square, before a driveway holds its shape, before a pond site even looks like a pond, somebody has to move the ground into the right shape. That's the bulldozer and excavator work: cutting high spots down, filling low spots in, and leaving a surface that drains the way it's supposed to instead of pooling where you don't want it.

Site prep is the same idea applied to a whole project — clearing, rough grading, and compacting a site so the next trade (concrete, gravel, fencing, whatever's next) isn't fighting the ground to get started.

02 — Ponds

New Pond Construction & Repair

A pond is really a dam with water behind it, and every problem a pond ever has traces back to how that dam was built — the core, the spillway, the compaction. We build new ponds sized and sited correctly the first time, and we fix the ones that weren't: leaking dams, silted-in basins, spillways that can't keep up in a hard rain, banks that are sloughing off.

03 — Erosion & Water Control

Drydams, Grade Stabilization, Waterways & Terraces

This is where the county NRCS and SWCD usually come into the conversation. Drydams, grade stabilization structures, grassed waterways, and terraces are textbook conservation practices — they're also just good engineering for keeping your topsoil where you planted it. We work with those agencies regularly, and a lot of this work qualifies for their cost-share programs, so it's worth asking before you assume a fix is out of budget.

Whether it's a head cut eating its way up a waterway, a drydam that needs to slow runoff before it reaches the creek, or a slope that's due for terracing, the goal is the same: control where the water goes so it stops taking your ground with it.

04 — Clearing & Reclamation

Forestry Mulching, Fence Row Cleanup & Invasive Species Removal

Overgrown ground doesn't need a burn pile. Forestry mulching grinds brush and small timber into mulch right where it stands, which means no hauling, no burn permits, and the ground is usable again in a day instead of a season. It's the fastest way to take back a fence row that's grown up over the years, or to knock back honeysuckle, autumn olive, and other invasive brush that's been quietly taking over pasture or timber edges.

05 — Pasture & Access

Pasture Reclamation & Trails

Pasture that's been let go — brushed over, rutted, grazed down to nothing — doesn't come back on its own. Reclamation means clearing what's taken over, regrading where it's needed, and leaving ground your herd can actually graze instead of just occupy. It's some of the most direct conservation-and-production work we do: better grazing ground means less erosion and more pounds on cattle, at the same time.

Trails get the same grading eye, cut and shaped for equipment access, hunting, or just getting across your own property without tearing it up.

06 — Planning

3D Modeling for Structures

Anything structural — a dam, a waterway, a grade stabilization structure — gets modeled in 3D before equipment ever moves. That means the slope, the elevations, and the drainage are all worked out on screen, where a mistake costs nothing, instead of in the field, where it costs a re-dig. It's the same design thinking NRCS and SWCD engineers use when they review a conservation practice, which is a big part of why our projects tend to clear that review without a lot of back-and-forth.

You also get to see the finished grade before it exists — useful for anything where "trust me" isn't good enough.

Working With NRCS & SWCD

Conservation Isn't a Sideline Here — It's How We Build

We work closely with the county's NRCS and Soil and Water Conservation District, and most of what's above — waterways, terraces, grade stabilization structures, drydams, pond work, pasture reclamation — lines up directly with the kind of practices those agencies design and often help fund.
